We Can………Make a Difference

Spirit Life recently kicked off a community service campaign, called “We Can…..Make a Difference.”

Throughout the month of April, our Ocala location will be collecting canned goods and nonperishable food items on behalf of Interfaith Emergency Services.

Interfaith has served needy people in Marion County for over twenty years with basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing and emergency financial assistance. Spirit Life is a long time financial supporter of Interfaith.

If you would like to participate in the “We Can” campaign, please bring your donated items to Spirit Life during office hours (Tuesday-Friday, 9 am - 4 pm) or at regularly scheduled service times.

Gainesville Facelift

There’s always something new going on at Spirit Life, and recently the Gainesville location experienced exciting changes giving our facilities a fresh look.

New chairs were one of the first things on the list. After faithfully using black metal chairs for over a year, Spirit Lifers in Gainesville now enjoy services in comfort using the padded purple chairs sent from the Ocala location.

And thanks to our expert sound and media team, the T1 line is up and running smoothly, meaning the Gainesville location can experience streaming services live from Ocala. The electronic connection makes a new unity tangible and further demonstrates the reality of “one church, one vision, in two locations.”

The latest step in Gainesville’s facelift includes updating the stage area. Recently, a group of Spirit Life men broke out their tools and demolished the high platform, making the entire room one level. Plans are in the works for wood flooring and a smaller, more modern platform to be used in the stage area.

“It’s amazing how much bigger the room feels without the old platform,” says Dr. Richard. “And with the new chairs and other touches, the sanctuary looks really fresh.”

Things are looking good in Gainesville and we’re going forward with greater momentum than ever. Stay tuned for more updates!

Announcing……..FUZION!

The Children’s Ministry at Spirit Life has a new look AND a new name - “FUZION”!

FUZION includes the Nursery (ages 0-2 years), Preschool (ages 3-5), and Elementary School kids (ages 6 - 5th grade) at both Spirit Life locations.

Brand new teaching tools like YouTube videos and interactive multimedia PLUS fun features like a popcorn machine, cool games and prizes make FUZION the place to be.

If you’re a kid, don’t miss out on FUZION every Sunday morning at 9 am and 11 am in Ocala and 11 am in Gainesville.

Live Full - Die Empty

The start of a new month means kicking off another theme at Spirit Life and for the month of May, our focus will be “LIVE FULL - DIE EMPTY!”

It’s an encouragement to live your life in such a way that there are no regrets. We all have God given resources  - time, abilities, finances, compassion.  These  things are intended to be released to the world around us, not held back in fear or selfishness.  Life is a gift meant for living and enjoying!

Are you living your life to the fullest?  If you knew your life would soon be over, what would you do differently?  What kind of legacy are you building for future generations?

Don’t miss any of our exciting services this month as Dr. Richard shares his passion for life through these amazing messages.

Wee Care...Delivered!

If you happened to see our youth pastors - Tristan and Kristen Kennedy - driving in Gainesville recently, you probably didn’t realize that riding with them were nearly 700 children’s books. These books were being delivered on behalf of Revolution, Spirit Life’s youth group, who collected, assembled and prepared the books.

In Gainesville, the Kennedy’s were met by Annie, a representative from the Children’s Miracle Network, who had been their contact throughout the project. Annie led them to Children’s Medical Services, a large pediatric outpatient hospital that would receive a portion of the books.

“The faces of all the hospital staff absolutely lit up as we walked in the door with our boxes of books,” said Pastor Tristan. “They were so excited to receive such a great gift for the kids.” Later, the staff shared that they are inundated with donations during the holidays, but often feel forgotten at other times of the year.

“It felt so good to know we were able to bless these children at a time when they really needed it,” said Pastor Kristen.

And the books will be put to good use. While many of them will be used by patients and their siblings for recreational reading, most of them will be part of an early literacy program also sponsored by Children’s Miracle Network and Shands Hospital.

“The best part is realizing that it wasn’t hard to collect and deliver books,” said Pastor Kristen. “It’s amazing that something so simple can make such a big difference.”

Special thanks to everyone who donated books for this project.
